Pinehurst NC Lin Hutaff Realtor

Less than 40 miles from the Village of Pinehurst is Seagrove, a rural area where more than 100 potters live, work and create beautiful pieces of pottery and ceramic art. It’s a unique place and I always look forward to the beautiful drive through the countryside visiting the potters’ studios, meeting and watching them in action. Many potters host kiln openings several times throughout the year and these can be quite festive events.

The Seagrove area is one of the largest communities of potters with the longest continual history of pottery making in the United States, some families have been plying their trade for more than six generations.

If you’re not able to make a trip to Seagrove a great alternative is Pottery of the Sandhills, a shop featuring the works of over two dozen of Seagrove’s finest potters. The store is located less than two miles from the Village of Pinehurst at 1680 NC Route 5, in Aberdeen. Pottery of the Sandhills features the creations of nationally known potters, such as Ben Owen III, as well as well-known regional and local emerging artists. There is something for everyone and every budget. It’s a terrific place to pick-up a piece for your collection or gifts for friends and family.

There is always something to do in Pinehurst for every age and interest. Make plans to visit soon and if you would like more information on properties in Pinehurst please call or text me at 910-528-6427.
